The first picture in
the square shows a flaming sword, this speaks of three things, first in the Old testament in Genesis 3:24 it speaks about
God placing a flaming sword guarding the way of life.
Yea, he casteth out the man,
and causeth to dwell at the east of the garden of Eden the cherubs and the flame of the sword which is turning itself round
to guard the way of the tree of life.
Secondly it speaks to us
of the Sword of the Spirit (the Word of God) found in Ephesians 6:17 which is part of the armour of God and is for the purpose
of warring against the evil one.
And
take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
Lastly
we read in Hebrews 4:12 that the Word of God is likened unto a twoedged sword and is for the purposes of discerning the thoughts
and intents of a persons heart.
For the word of God is
quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of
the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
The second
picture in the square speaks of Paul’s confession of preaching Christ and Him crucified, found in 1 Corinthians
1:23 and also the preaching of the cross is the power of God in 1 Corinthians 1:18.
But we
preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
For the
preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
The third part of the logo
is all about the Word of God having a prominent place in our fellowship (Sola Scripta = Scripture alone) and being seen as
the faith once delivered by God through the apostles in Jude 1:3
Beloved, when I gave all diligence
to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly
contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
The fourth
and last section of our logo is all about Christ being our one and only anchor and we read about it in Hebrews 6:19 an as
our anchor He keeps us steadfast and sure in times of trouble and temptation.
Which hope
we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;
